Sea Scamp Sailing

The Kind of Sailing We Do

We operate a full sailing programme, usually from mid-April to the end of November.

In the spring and autumn, we run two- and three-day weekend and weekday cruises from our home base at Shamrock Quay on the River Itchen in Southampton. These offer Solent and South Coast based sailing, with occasional trips across to France or the Channel Islands.

In the summer Sea Scamp goes further afield, with a series of one or two-week trips. This year (2011) we have some one week cruises along the south west coast of England and are then taking Sea Scamp up the west coast of Scotland to explore the Western Isles, with another two weeks on the way home to visit more Devon and Dorset coast. We plan to take part in the Royal Escape Race from Brighton to Fecamp in May and join several British Classic Yacht Club events in the Solent. The annual OCC Regatta with our sister yacht Overlord will take place in October and we have several training weekends both for people new to sailing and for those keen to improve their skills. Previous summer cruises have included Brittany, Normandy and Ireland, England’s south-west and east coast, the west coast of Scotland and the Netherlands.

A sailing programme is published at the beginning of each year, and booking is through the club sailing secretary.
